Minnesota requires that trained personnel maintain current knowledge of stormwater regulations, BMP updates, and SWPPP development standards. This combined recertification course allows professionals to renew both the SWPPP Designer and Site Manager certifications in one streamlined program.
The course summarizes regulatory changes, clarifies updated responsibilities, strengthens BMP selection and maintenance knowledge, and reinforces proper documentation and inspection practices under the Minnesota CSW Permit (MNR100001).
This is a renewal-only course intended for professionals whose previous certifications are active or within 6 months of their expiration date.

Course Expectations
This on-demand course is 8 hours long. Your 5 Consecutive Days to complete (including Holidays and Weekends) begins the moment a Learner is registered for this course. This course will NOT take the full 5 days, but this amount of time provides the Learner the ability to go at their own pace.
We understand that sometimes you can't start a course right away, and that's okay! We suggest holding off registering for this course until you are ready to get started so that you have as much of the full 5 consecutive days as possible to complete it.

A current or recently expired certification is required.
Permit Language
Permittees must ensure all of the following individuals receive training and the content and extent of the training is commensurate with the individual's job duties and responsibilities with regard to activities covered under this permit:
- Individuals preparing the SWPPP for the project.
- Individuals overseeing implementation of, revising and/or amending the SWPPP and individuals performing inspections for the project. One of these individuals must be available for an on-site inspection within 72 hours upon request by the MPCA.
- Individuals performing or supervising the installation, maintenance and repair of BMPs. [Minn. R. 7090]

Does Minnesota require recertification?
Yes. Trained personnel are expected to maintain updated stormwater knowledge, and recertification every 3 years.
Can I take this course if my certification has expired?
Verify EligibilityYes, if your current certification is within 6 months of expiration. If not, you must take the full certification which is course WMN0100 or WMN0102
Is there a final exam?
Yes. Passing is required to receive renewal certification.
Does this course include BMP Installation Recertification?
No. BMP Installers must renew using WMN0105.
